Los Angeles Stick Night
Thursday, December 9, at the Baked Potato, Studio City, California

featuring Bob Culbertson, Don Schiff and Emmett Chapman. Show times 9 PM and 11 PM.

Details

It's time for another local "Stick Night" event featuring repeat performances (but different songs) by Bob Culbertson, Don Schiff and Emmett Chapman.

Starting at 9 PM, each soloist takes the stage for one song, and so on through the evening in round robin fashion, with a break between shows at 10:30. As with our last show in September, this will be a variety show of styles and genres, the common factor being The Stick itself in solo (plus a few inspired duos).

My daughter Diana Lang will once again light up the evening as M.C., introducing each performer and each song with a colorful, historical perspective.

The Baked Potato is located in the Cahuenga Pass, connecting the San Fernando Valley with Hollywood. This famous 30-year-old nightclub provides the L.A. area with jazz and innovative music of every genre (and with stuffed baked potato dinners of every persuasion).

The address is:

3787 Cahuenga Boulevard West, Studio City, CA 91604

Tel. 818-980 1615 http://www.thebakedpotato.com/home.htm

BOB of Northern CA, the experienced virtuoso, will perform Celtic and classical songs on his 12-string Grand Stick with no effects processing. www.stickmusic.com and www.stick.com/onlinevideos

DON of Northridge, the seasoned professional, will play his original songs on the "NS/Stick" 8-stringed tapping bass guitar using tons of glamorous effects and loops, plus his stylized vocals. www.donschiff.com

EMMETT of Woodland Hills, the inventor of this instrument and its specific string tapping method, will play novel arrangements of well known songs and will improvise on his 10-string Grand Stick with no effects processing. www.stick.com and www.emmettchapman.net

Cover charge is $15. at the door. There is street and valet parking at the club. CDs and DVDs of all three performers and other Stick artists will be available for sale.

Hope to see you there. Best, Emmett.
