The Sticktionary™

The comprehensive 376 page "Sticktionary" is devoted to Stick® chord construction and is the first book of its kind written specifically for this instrument.

It contains over 2200 right and left hand chord diagrams constructed from 650 basic chord shapes including the root position chords as well as various chord inversions. Also included are over 400 left hand chords diagrammed exclusively for High Bass 4th tuning.

The Sticktionary is the only reference book that serves the entire family of Stick 4ths/5ths tunings. Its diagrams are designed to be used with any 8, 10, or 12-string Stick with any of the conventional 4ths/5ths tunings including the "Classic" (aka "Standard") tuning, Baritone Melody™, Deep Baritone Melody™, Matched Reciprocal™, Deep Matched Reciprocal™, and High Bass 4th (a minor variation at the highest interval of the standard bass 5ths).

Accompanying each chord diagram are explanations of the chord constructs, also "C" notation for each shape, and interval identification on each diagram. The diagrams utilize the geometric finger symbols familiar to readers of "Free Hands" and "The Stick Book".

Written as an educational resource and reference, The Sticktionary includes sections on harmony, polychords, and chord inversions. A separate section, dedicated to charting out The Stick’s fretboard, contains pitch range notation and diagrams for all Stick models and all conventional 4ths/5ths tunings.

Chris, a veteran Stick player since 1984, sought out the assistance of Steve Adelson on the editing of this book of chordal possibilities and also incorporated suggestions from Greg Howard and Emmett Chapman.
